Who can request lab time?
Our facilities are available to Auburn University faculty and students, external academic institutions, commercial companies, and government agencies. All users must agree to our facility use terms before their first reservation.
How far in advance do I need to schedule?
We recommend requesting lab time at least one week in advance. For complex or multi-day testing campaigns, two to four weeks lead time allows our team to prepare the facility and review any safety requirements specific to your project.
What happens after I submit a request?
Our team reviews your request and responds within 2–3 business days. We may follow up with questions about your project, safety requirements, or technical setup. Once approved, you will receive a confirmation with scheduling details.
Is there a cost to use the facilities?
Usage fees vary by facility and duration of use. Auburn University students and faculty working on approved research may qualify for reduced-rate or subsidized access. Contact us for a quote specific to your project.
Do you provide technical support during testing?
Yes. All lab sessions include access to a research engineer familiar with the facility. For specialized testing plans, we also offer consultation services to help design your test campaign.
What safety documentation is required?
Depending on the nature of your test, you may be required to submit a hazard assessment, material safety data sheets (MSDS), or a written test plan before approval. Our team will let you know what is needed after reviewing your request.
Can I reschedule or cancel a reservation?
Reservations can be rescheduled or cancelled with at least 48 hours notice. Late cancellations may be subject to a partial charge. Contact the lab coordinator listed in your confirmation email to make changes.
Are the facilities available on weekends?
Weekend availability varies by lab. Some facilities offer limited weekend hours for ongoing projects. Check available time slots in the request form or contact us to discuss extended scheduling options.
